Digital Art Biography
Source:- Google.com.pkSince an early age my life has centered around art and the drive to create it. I believe the aesthetic experience occurs in a personal moment when the viewer sees art. I create images for that moment. Oil Paint and Watercolor had always been my choice of media to reflect the outer world, however now fast computing capabilities provide the tools to render my vibrant inner world.
Today, my 'tradigital' work is abstract surreal, employing traditional mixed media implemented with the benefit of digital technology. I enjoy a freestyle approach to the use of media; I orchestrate the visual components using a variety of techniques. By scanning painted and drawn media into pixels, I manipulate and integrate the imagery with digital painting, drawing and 3-D sculpting. I work heart and mind devoted to the final abstract surreal image.
I've heard it said the artist has a responsibility to be a mirror for the society in which he lives. The hectic and chaotic, even manic, nature of modern life can be perceived as overwhelming. The artwork I create presents an arrangement of colorful elements that express emotions and aspirations that are given form by this chaos. Those elements are vaguely flitting representational shapes and symbols from that place between the dream state and psychosis.
Robert’s admiration for de Chirico’s metaphysical paintings ascertains itself in her mysterious and deserted fantasy-scapes.The overstated perspective in these evokes an ominous and at another times auspicious dream space-age world. Aligned to this novel imagery is the technique Robert uses: digital art.
Robert is fascinated by the ancient theory of Feng Shui, ‘Wind Water’, that concerns the nonresistant elements which can be felt but not seen. These are theories on relationships existing between humans and their environment and how these affect one’s well being. According to these theories one can maximize positive energy by altering spatial relationships and other aesthetic elements in an environment. Robert creates places with exaggerated altered spatial relationships and other aesthetic elements in which one is to accumulate auspicious energy. Some of these universes are cool, dark and lifeless, representing Yin energy; others are hot and bright, representing Yang energy. In life both must be kept in balance to enjoy good luck.
These deserted spaces full of cold metals, headless torsos of mannequins, leafless trees or hot red and gold enigmatic universes are created of pieces of architecture and pieces of sculptures laid out in the background of open nature. Robert often uses objects created by masters of design who sought to produce a symbiotic relationship between the arts such as Le Corbusier’s famous tubular steel and cowhide chairs .In a similar way, the colors also symbolize the presence of opposing forces in life and nature. Blue and yellow indicate light and space, white expresses serenity and clarity, green represents meadows and forests, red symbolizes action.
Robert’s talent was noticed already at her age fourteen by a family friend Daniel Filipacchi, a well known publisher of Paris-Match, who had invited her to take care of the aesthetic make-up of the magazine. Since this time Robert has created a body of work. She had numerous one-woman shows in alternative spaces of Miami’s South Beach; shows in the locations associated with the Art Basel Miami Beach and Art Miami. She was subject to group exhibitions “Budapest Today” and “BridgeProject” at Roosvelt Square, Budapest, Hungary; and the “International Webism Art Show” in Sonthofen, Germany. Robert lives and creates in Miami Beach, Florida, United States.
She chooses to hold her exhibitions in alternative spaces.
enjoy creating eye-catching pictures that blend vagueness and subtle details with sharpness and contrasts.
My representational creations often echo some of my favorite themes in science-fiction & fantasy literature, and also reflect my interest in philosophy and metaphysics. Addressing the subconscious and the imagination, I combine hyperrealism and surrealism to form unusual scenes that broaden the notion of reality and blur its boundaries.
My abstract work is about composing distinctive and stimulating designs where beauty lies in harmony and balance. I use mostly fractal* imagery because I am drawn to its immediate visual impact and to the game of exploration it involves. As I play endlessly with shapes and textures, colors and tones, movement and light, I focus on the aesthetic rhythm that will unite elements into compelling visual melodies.
*Note: Fractal geometry is a branch of mathematics that describes complex shapes found in nature. Fractal images are the visualization of a mathematical object characterized by self-similarity across different scales. Each fractal is a virtual universe featuring infinitely intricate and detailed designs.
I am a self-taught visual artist. Reading, drawing and painting were part of my everyday life as a child. Later I found a growing interest in photography, and eventually came across the world of digital art. The idea of integrating modern technology and traditional media immediately appealed to me.
My creations reflect a variety of cultural influences from my European and American background. I was born in Grenoble and grew up living in various regions of France, occasionally visiting neighbor countries. I also spent 11 years in the United States, where I lived in Indiana then in Massachusetts. I am now back in France and currently reside in Strasbourg.
